Background.
Ben's first fifteen years were in Swiss health insurance — the consultancy side and the distribution side. He saw the work from the inside: the contracts, the underwriting, the commission model, the sales pressure that the brand of Expat Savvy was deliberately built to refuse. The decision to move into tech came out of that experience, not despite it.
Today he runs the digital agency loaded.ch and is the operator behind the Expat Digital Group — four small businesses that share an audience: the English-speaking professional living in Switzerland. Each runs independently; together they form what Ben calls the group.
Insurance is just the table the conversation happens on. The real product is trust — and trust is something you can only earn slowly, in someone else's language. — Ben Wagner
What Ben works on.
Day-to-day, the consultation desk runs without him — Ben is most useful where the businesses meet: shaping how the group is positioned, who it partners with, how it shows up. He is not in the client-review rotation; the 45-minute insurance reviews are run by Robert (health) and Hans (pension, 3rd pillar, life, cross-border).
Brand & positioning
Direction across the four properties — what each business says, who it speaks to, where the lines sit.
Partnerships
FINMA-registered intermediaries, IPMI specialists like sip.ch, the relocation-agency network behind relofinder.ch, the property network behind offlist.ch.
Product & design
Visual system, editorial portraits, the four-traps diagnostic, dignity-on-sensitive-topics voice rules — end-to-end.
Digital & ops
The technical infrastructure across all four properties, built and maintained through loaded.ch.
Languages.
Ben works in German and English at full pitch, with conversational Russian for the Russian-speaking part of the international community in Switzerland.
