The customer journey

Five steps — from booking to written summary.

From the calendar booking to the written summary in your inbox: five steps, no surprises, no follow-up sales calls.

Schedule the meeting

Book via the embedded calendar — choose Robert (health insurance) or Hans (pension and tax). 45-minute slot. In English. Video call by default; in-person at our Talacker 41 office in Zürich on request.

Send what we ask for

A short intake form: current insurance contracts (basic + supplementary), recent payslip showing UVG / BVG lines, recent insurance correspondence (premium notices, claim decisions). For pension reviews, your latest BVG (pillar 2) annual statement and any 3a account statements. We don't ask for what we don't need.

The 45-minute review itself

We read your contracts. We run the four-lever math against your specific household. We map gaps and overlaps. We ask the questions the contract surfaces. We do not pitch products. By the end, you know what we recommend and why.

Written summary within 3 working days

You receive a written summary covering: the architecture as we found it, what we recommend (stay / restructure / switch), the federal-law citations supporting each recommendation, and the next-step decision points. The summary stays useful as a reference document — not just a meeting note.

Decision is yours — no follow-up sales calls

You decide what happens next. We do not run follow-up sales calls. We do not bombard you with offers. If you want to proceed on a recommendation, you write back; if you want to think for six months, the door stays open. Restraint is the point.

What the review covers

Two specialists — two depths of read.

Health insurance · with Robert

  • Franchise lever — six federal tiers (Art. 64 KVG), usage-band match, family-cap interaction.
  • Insurance model — Standard / Hausarzt / HMO / Telmed; GP-list verification before commitment.
  • Supplementary timing — Art. 4 VVG underwriting cliff; clean-window planning; multi-insurer simultaneous application.
  • KVG-exemption check — Art. 2 KVV for executives with IPMI, certain frontaliers, qualifying students.
  • Four traps applied — age curve, 3-month deadline, coverage that pays vs fights, match coverage to your life.
  • Cantonal-region tariff verification — Art. 8 KVV; we routinely catch wrong-region tariffs.

Pension and tax · with Hans

  • AHV / BVG / 3rd pillar gap analysis — current contributions × years × expected returns vs target retirement income.
  • Federal-cantonal-communal tax stack — marginal-rate math on pillar 3a + buy-ins.
  • Insurance vs banking 3a architecture — coverage-gap analysis; honest disclosure on commission alignment.
  • Multi-account staggered withdrawal — Art. 5 BVV3 grounds; account count optimisation for higher balances.
  • Leaving-Switzerland modelling — withholding-tax canton selection; destination-country treaty interaction.
  • BVG buy-in interaction — pillar-2 buy-in capacity for higher earners; combined-deduction strategy.

Pension and tax — deeper reads

Where Hans's review typically pays back.

The pension consultation is structurally deeper than the basic-insurance review — gap analysis, tax-effect modelling per canton, multi-year horizon planning, leaving-Switzerland mechanics. The relevant sections live at /3rd-pillar/ as a Hans-funnel hub. Tax-saving levers at /3rd-pillar/tax-optimization/ with the federal-cantonal-communal calculator. Withdrawal mechanics at /3rd-pillar/withdrawal-guide/ with the canton-of-withdrawal calculator. Self-employed architecture at /3rd-pillar/for-self-employed/ with the big-3a calculator. Read those before the meeting if you want; the 45 minutes still apply the math to your specific household.

The free review — and how we earn.

Our 45-minute first review is free. No catch, no pressure, no follow-up sales calls. We are paid by commission from insurers when an insurance contract is issued, disclosed under Article 45 VAG — the regulated commission disclosure framework that applies to every FINMA-supervised independent intermediary in Switzerland.

We earn commission on insurance contracts (health basic + supplementary, life, household, liability, life-insurance-wrapped 3a). We earn no commission on banking 3a recommendations (VIAC, frankly, finpension, traditional bank 3a). We recommend banking 3a in roughly 60% of pension reviews — because that is the cleaner answer for most clients, not because we earn from it.

We say "stay" more often than "switch". Most reviews end with us recommending stay or restructure on the existing insurer, not a switch to a new one. Restraint is the advisor difference. Read our regulated Art. 45 VAG disclosure for the specifics.

What we don't do

Restraint, made explicit.

  • No urgency manipulation — no "today only," no fake deadlines, no scarcity tactics.
  • No surprise products in the meeting — the agenda is what we agreed in scheduling.
  • No commission-driven nudges — we recommend stay over switch when the math says so.
  • No follow-up sales calls — you decide if and when to revisit.
  • No data sold or shared — your information stays with our regulated practice.
  • No "free trial" tactics — the review is free, full stop, regardless of what you decide.

Frequently asked — the consultation itself.

01 How much does a Swiss insurance consultation cost?
Our 45-minute first review is free. We are paid by commission from insurers when an insurance contract is issued, disclosed under Article 45 VAG. We earn no commission on banking 3a recommendations. The reader pays nothing for the consultation itself, and we recommend stay over switch in most cases — restraint is the advisor difference.
02 What languages do you operate in?
English first. Plus German, French, and Czech across the team. Robert: German, English, Czech. Hans: German, English, French. Benjamin: German, English. Written summaries delivered in your preferred working language.
03 What should I bring to the meeting?
Current insurance contracts (basic + supplementary policy documents), a recent payslip showing the UVG / BVG / accident-insurance lines, recent insurance correspondence (premium notices for the upcoming year, recent claim decisions). For pension reviews: your latest BVG annual statement (Pensionskassenausweis) and any 3a account statements. If you do not have everything, send what you have — we can run a meaningful review with partial documents and request the rest after.
04 How long does the consultation take?
45 minutes scheduled. Some end faster; some run a few minutes over. The written summary follows within 3 working days regardless of meeting length — the summary is the deliverable, not the call.
05 Do you sell insurance directly or just compare?
We are a regulated independent insurance intermediary under Article 45 VAG, FINMA-registered F01067278. We sell insurance products (health, life, household, liability, life-insurance-wrapped 3a) where they fit. We do not sell banking 3a apps — we recommend banking 3a (VIAC, frankly, finpension, traditional bank 3a) when banking is the cleaner answer. We earn no commission on banking 3a. The disclosure is the point.
06 What is the difference between you and Comparis?
Comparison portals (Comparis, Moneyland) list premium prices; they do not read your contract, run your specific lever math, verify GP and hospital networks for your postcode, or recommend staying when staying is right. We are regulated under Article 45 VAG and operate as a fiduciary to the client. Comparis tells you the price; we tell you what the contract says.
07 Are you regulated?
Yes. FINMA-registered F01067278, independent intermediary under Article 45 VAG. Verify on the FINMA public register at finma.ch.
08 Will I be pressured to switch insurance during the meeting?
No. We say "stay" more often than "switch" in most reviews. The 45 minutes are honest assessment, not sales. If we recommend a stay, we earn no commission and the review still costs nothing. There is no urgency tactic, no "today only" offer, no follow-up call you did not invite.
09 What happens after the 45 minutes?
Written summary within 3 working days covering the architecture as found, our recommendations with federal-law citations, and next-step decision points. You decide. If you want to proceed on a recommendation, write back. If you want to think for months, the door stays open.
10 Can I book separately for health insurance and pension?
Yes — and we recommend it for households where both topics warrant depth. Health insurance with Robert; pension and tax with Hans. Different specialists, different focus. Some households book both in the same week; some book them months apart. Both reviews stay free.
